Bio

Kyle Carter is a U.S. Air Force judge advocate who served 11 years on active duty and continues to serve in the Air Force Reserve.

Kyle was commissioned as a judge advocate in January 2015. His assignments covered nearly every side of military law. As Chief of Military Justice for the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon AFB, he handled courts-martial and other disciplinary actions. He deployed to Bagram Airfield as the Fiscal and Operational Law Attorney for Special Operations Joint Task Force–Afghanistan. He later served as Wing Legal Advisor to the 621st Contingency Response Wing, as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate at RAF Alconbury, and as Staff Judge Advocate for the 65th Air Base Group at Lajes Field, Portugal. His most recent assignment was as the U.S. Air Force Exchange Officer to the Royal Air Force Directorate of Legal Services in the United Kingdom.

In those roles, Kyle advised senior commanders on investigations, discipline, and legal risk. That experience gives him a clear view of how the command side approaches a case, which he now puts to work for service members.

Before law school, Kyle earned a B.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Abilene Christian University. He then spent eight years as an international commercial project manager in Chile, England, China, and India. He earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach.

Kyle is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. His practice outside Colorado is limited to federal matters that do not implicate state law.
